He does need gentle guidance when it comes to distinguishing which things he should chew. His courage and talent for discovery make him an endearing, loyal dog.
Toby is fine with other dogs but can be a bit shy when meeting new people or pets, so a slow and gentle introduction is best. While he hasn't been tested with cats, his tendency to chase birds suggests supervision may be necessary in any new feline friendships. Loud noises and sudden movements startle him, so he would thrive in a home without small children or excessive activity.
